Valentine’s Day crafts from around the web

Valentine’s Day is fast approaching, which means this weekend might be the perfect time to create something sweet for your Valentine. In addition to the fun and easy craft kits offered at Paper Source, we surfed the web for other inspiring Valentine’s Day cards and crafts.

Recycled never looked sweeter than this upcycled version of our Letterpress Calendar. Our Bridgeport store fell in love with the crochet edge of these cards.

California dreamin’ on such a blizzard day

WARNING: Everyone who lives from Texas to Ohio might want to stop reading now.

While the Blizzard of 2011 stranded most of the country indoors I was stuck in sunny L.A., after attending the Craft and Hobby show. Of course, I would have rather been home with my family. But, if I had to be stuck somewhere, then this wasn’t a bad option for a girl from Chicago.

I visited our Southern California Paper Source stores during my extended stay. It was fun to see the Valentine products in the stores.

cards for love

The boxed set of “Love Knows No Boundaries” cards grabbed me in a way I would have never experienced had I been around my loved ones! I felt like I wanted to send one home, but I think my Midwestern family would’ve wanted to punch me with that idyllic Cali scene on the front!

valentine cards

I couldn’t decide which Valentine card to buy while at the stores. We have a lot of different styles. I ended up buying one that wasn’t specifically for Valentine’s but rather just a plain “love” card from a company called Nourishing Notes. It has 2 Dover Soles letterpressed on the front and a recipe on the back. The front of the card reads, “sole mates.” It’s really cute. I hope my husband will like it, but when I get back and relieve him of blizzard babysitting duty, I think it might take the card PLUS a case of beer to make him truly happy!

Buyer’s favorite: The perfect Valentine’s Day gifts

Valentine’s Day is quickly approaching and, while our best Paper Source Valentine’s Day products are our paper Valentines, we thought you might like to hear about our favorite gifts for celebrating the season of love.

My personal favorite is the tiny papel picado garland. The paper cutting technique is done by hand in Mexico, by artisans who chisel through layers of tissue paper to create beautiful garlands. This mini banner would be an adorable addition to your cubicle or office for Valentine’s Day! Read the rest of this entry »
