Our printable labels are popular with Paper Source customers because their uses are endless. They make lovely mailing labels, but can just as easily be used for names on school cubbies, card making, or perfecting a scrapbook. You can even achieve total organization for your pretty as a picture workspace, like the image above.

However looks can be deceiving! Sometimes printing on labels can be a tear-your-hair-out experience. Wasted and unusable pages are par for the course, and often it feels as if you need a degree in graphic design (or Microsoft Word) to be successful at all.

Fret not! We’ve heard your wailing cries of woe from our design headquarters in Chicago, and offer up a new solution: easy to use PDF templates! Simply download (any of the styles shown here), type in your info, and hit print. If you want to get a little more complicated and change fonts and color, it’s just a couple of clicks away.

If you want to flex your graphic design skills, we still have templates in Microsoft Word, Pages, and Indesign available – so you can customize our products as much as you dare. Happy printing!

If you ever feel nostalgic for those sticker collections of early childhood, then let me introduce you to my new crafty best friend, the Xyron Create A Sticker. It brings back memories of carefree days and transforms all sorts of beautiful paper into stickers I can use for grown-up things like cards, files, books, and other craft projects. Recently, I found an even more practical use for my Xyron – making labels! This is not your mother’s old one-font label maker – you can print any font, shape, and color that you want, turn it into a sticker, and label to your heart’s content.

I used my newfound labeling skills to spruce up the envelopes for a friend’s bridal shower invitations. The wrap-around address labels were the finishing touch that the invitations needed to make them look complete and professionally crafted. It was all courtesy of my Xyron, a little imagination, and other crafting essentials (awesome postage stamps never hurt either!).

Here’s how to create these lovely envelopes:
1. Using this editable address labels template PDF I created, fill in names and addresses. Print the labels on 8 1/2 x 11 text weight paper in superfine soft white.
2. For straight edges, cut out the individual labels with the Guillotine Trimmer.
3. Run each label through the Xyron Create A Sticker!
4. Fold each label where it will wrap around the envelope using a bone folder.
5. Separate the label from the Xyron paper and place on envelope.

Voila! Your labels are done! If you want to add a bit more pizzazz, use the handy dandy envelope liner template kit to trace and cut out liners. For my project, I used Paper Source wrapping paper, but any print wrap will do. Use double-sided tape to adhere the liner to the envelopes. You can also cut out one-inch circles with a hole punch and run them through the Xyron to create envelope seals. Put it all together and you get something simple and beautiful, just like those old sticker books.

We recently threw a baby shower for our coworker, Lauren, who is having twins next month (or perhaps sooner!). With a “twice as nice” twins theme and a color palette inspired by her nursery, we put together simple decorations and a fun card with a baby shower gift that made for a delightful afternoon.

We always do our best to create a one-of-a-kind card for every celebration. For Lauren, I made a baby buggy card using circles as the design element. I featured two buggies for the twins, but the baby buggy concept would work well with just one buggy or used on a baby shower invitation.

To make the card…
1. I used a leaf A9 card as a base, layering chocolate and khaki paper in slightly smaller rectangles to create a little matted frame.
2. The base and canopy of the buggies are made from superfine soft white 2 1/2″ round labels, which I cut using a simple guide (to make the guide I peeled one label off the sheet and folded it in half). Using this half circle guide, I cut another circle label in half and adhered each half to the card as the base of the buggies.
3. Next I folded the guide in half again so it was a 1/4 of a circle, and used that as a guide to cut nice 1/4 circles for the buggy canopies.
4. The buggy wheels are made from 1″ circles punched from chocolate paper, and then I hand cut little handles for each buggy.
5. For a decorative finish, I trimmed the edge of a chocolate A2 scallop card and added it to the buggy base.

A simple theme with thoughtful touches made the day, but most importantly we took the time to celebrate this very special occasion. Best of luck, Lauren!

My sister, a third grade teacher, is always looking for creative kids craft ideas. She recently asked me to come up with a fun project she could do with her students for Halloween. When I think Halloween, I think monsters, which led to these colorful paper monsters. The basic shapes are made from circle cards, printable labels, and scrap paper. For a fun dimensional look I combined two circle cards, folded the top card in half, adhered the top halves of each card together, and left the bottom halves free to create an open mouth.

The idea was to let the kids be creative when making their monsters, so beyond showing them some samples, they were free to add horns, eyes (however many they desired!), claws, teeth, etc. For finishing touches we used Stickles glitter glue as slime, warts, boogers…you get the idea.

The motto of this craft project: “No Rules, Anything Goes!”

So is finding easy ways to be creative! Labels and stickers are a perfect blend of the two because they satisfy the urge to get organized in a creative way. Here are a few fun ways we at Paper Source like to use labels and stickers.

School/Office
In school we all remember covering our books with paper to hide their second hand covers. You can do the same thing with books on your shelves at home, color coordinating cookbooks, home décor, gardening, art, fiction, and non-fiction books with solid color paper covers and contrasting labels.
Labels and stickers also dress up any file folder– be it a manila one you are recycling, or one with lovely Chartreuse Dots as shown. Either way, you will be pleased with the hit of color and decoration they provide. They can also play a part in defining your filing system, organizing the file content through use of label color, decoration, or shape.

Around the House
You can carry these organizing themes into any closet in the house – labeling boxes and shelves with contents. Very satisfying to accomplish and to look at!

Several of us have also used labels in recent moves – labeling boxes by color, by room. This helped direct which boxes went into what rooms, quickly and correctly. Nothing worse then being exhausted from moving and then having to re-lug the right boxes into the right rooms!

Time Management (sort of)
Finally, I thought I’d share this wonderful idea for keeping time. Annie and team came up with the idea of using a Paper Source circle card and coordinating circle stickers to make a mid-century mod wall clock! The clock itself is a little battery-operated box with hands. You can find one at your local hardware store. When hung behind a circle card (hands sitting on top of the card) with four 2”circle stickers and twelve 1 ¼” circle stickers surrounding the center to mark the hours of the day, the inexpensive clock becomes modern art!

P.S. A word of warning: putting our stickers directly onto a wall may pull off paint if removed. We suggest you apply the stickers to solid roll wrap then hang on the wall if you do not want to damage your walls!
